tools=The development of an IWRM plan for the Orange-Senqu River Basin Commission (ORASECOM) is being supported by International Cooperating Partners in two phases.  Phase 1 was completed in 2007, the outcome of which was a set of key documents, describing the different aspects of the basin.  <a href="asfunction:gotoAndStop,_root.values"><font color="#00adef"><u> The document library </u> </font></a> of the RAK includes copies of the Phase 1 report.
  
Phase 2 of the development of an IWRM plan currently comprises 9 inter-related activities. 

<li>Development of an Integrated Orange River Basin Model to allow for participation of all basin members;</li>
<li>Data acquisition and display system for the Orange-Senqu River Basin;</li>
<li>Updating and extension of Orange-Senqu River Hydrology assessment;</li>
<li>Assessment of requirements to carry out an Integrated Water Resources Quality Management Plan for the Orange-Senqu River;</li>
<li>Determination of catchments boundaries;</li>
<li>Capacity Building on the use of hydrological and system modelling;</li>
<li>Assessment of the impact of Climate Change on the Orange-Senqu River Basin;</li>
<li>Assessment of Environmental Requirements; and</li>
<li>Assessment for the potential for Water Demand Management in the irrigation sector of the Orange-Senqu River Basin.</li>

These activities will be undertaken from 2009 to 2010.  Please check back to review progress.
