Namib_desert=The Namib Desert ecoregion is part of the Desert and Xeric Shrublands Biome, covering a small pocket in the far west of the Orange-Senqu River basin. The highly arid Namib Desert is one of the oldest deserts on earth. While the desert itself has no surface water resources, plants and animals have adapted to the conditions and eek out an existence from the moisture in the heavy fogs that frequent the coastal region. These fogs are created by the mixing of cold maritime air from the Benquela current influenced ocean and hot, dry desert air.
