draken_montane=Description: Part of the Afrotropics region and the Montane Grasslands and Shrublands Biome, the Drakensberg A Montane Grasslands, Woodlands and Forests ecoregion covers the portion of Lesotho below 2 500 mamsl (metres above mean sealevel), the southern portion of the Vaal sub-basin and southern fringes of the Orange-Senqu River basin in South Africa. It is characterised primarily by grasslands, with scattered stands of coniferous forest. This ecoregion has been exposed to significant degradation due to conversion to farming and the negative effects of overgrazing.
