Kalkfontein_Dam=The Kalkfontein Dam is located in South Africa, close to the city of Korrierfontein. The dam stores water from the Riet River, and was completed in 1979. It has a reservoir capacity of 323,4 Mm³.
<p>As a result of protracted droughts, the Kalkfontein Dam, previously the Orange-Riet River transfer scheme's only source of supply, could no longer meet the needs of the total scheduled irrigation area.</p>
